You’re married. Woohoo! Now you’ve got hundred of images from the most gorgeous day, that represent you and your love, and you have no idea what to do with them! Needing some help? Don’t want the SUPER cheesy ideas of just simply printing them on a $4 coffee mug? I’ve got you girl. Here are my top 10 favorite ways to display your wedding images in and around your house!
This one feels a little obvious, but not everybody has experienced what having a canvas is like!! Let me tell you friends, its beautiful. It’s big (if you’re like me an order ridiculously large sizes) and the perfect addition above your mantel or hanging over your headboard in your bedroom. Trust me guys, just do it. You can thank me later.
One of the best things about pictures is that you can mix and match them with family portraits, some pictures from your engagement session, and just life’s pictures in general and it all comes together SO nicely!! It’s a perfect little exhibit of your life in its entirety. I love throwing in a few black and white images too to give a little bit of variation! You can find TONS of layouts to get inspiration from on Pinterest.
Pro Tip: When you’re planning to do this, cut pieces of paper out in the sizes and shapes of what your frames will be, and tape them with painters tape up on your wall so you get a visual of what it’s actually going to look like! ALSO make sure you cut out the size of the frame, not the size of the picture. For example, don’t use measurements based off an 8×10 picture. You’ll end up wanting to measure for 10×12 or something like that to account in the size of the frame itself as well!
Wedding albums are my favorite! Some photographers offer this as an add on to your wedding collection or session package pricing. They have access to print from very high-quality labs, and the albums that come out from these labs are GORGEOUS. Like. It’s amazing. So be sure to check with your photographer to see if they offer that! If not, Shutterfly or the like is a great option too. I love the idea of having an album of wedding images in a tangible book that looks so beautiful on the coffee table.
I super love the idea of this. If my fridge didn’t get ruined by magnets, I would have my wedding images PLASTERED all over it through magnets. They’re not very expensive, they’re super flippin’ cute, and actually useful. Good luck to all the husbands trying to get us to not spend money. You can’t argue with cute and functional!!
Okay, another check for a cute and functional item. I mean who doesn’t love some personalized coasters? You truly can never have too many coasters. The living room, dining room, kitchen, office, on the nightstands in the bedroom, on the outside patio furniture. Everywhere. Better get ordering girl!!
Now, I get this may not be for everybody. Not everybody wants their faces plastered on a giant blanket to snuggle up with, but when it’s done its SO CUTE. Pretty much the closest thing you can do to giving yourself a hug? I always picture myself wrapping myself up in a wedding image and reliving the best day of my life with a nice hot cup of coffee. Pure bliss right there.
As you grow your family and go on vacations, you’ll get some paper ornaments from school, some fun national park ones from Colorado, but there’s nothing that says ‘spend the holidays with your loved ones’ than hanging up memories of the day that began your family like ornaments with your wedding images in them. Now, there’s no need to go crazy here. I think 2 or 3 would plenty suffice, unless you want to have some to rotate through throughout the years. Or if you want to throw a mini wedding on your tree again. You do you, boo!
Okay I think this is my favorite option out of all of these. Have you seen those cute little teenie square pictures that you can order?! You can order those from companies like ParboPress!! The most personalized thing that I think you could do with your photos is go buy yourself a little Smashbook (google it if you don’t know what it is!), paste your little square pictures all over with any other stationary, flat mementos, flat dried florals, etc. into that Smashbook and write your favorite memories from the day in there. It’s a fun way to document the best day ever and spark some creativity at the same time! Also, it would make a super awesome anniversary gift!!
This one is pretty self-explanatory. It’s a fun way to relive your day by reminiscing as you look at a new picture every month. A fun thing to do with that is hyper document all the dates you go on, all the special occasions, triu
mphs, and victories of that first year of marriage. Now that I’m writing this, I wish it had been something Tyler and I did!
Again, this one may not be for everybody. I personally love a phone case with a picture on it. Ever since high school, I’ve loved having a clear case to put in a small polaroid picture, a little love note, or some little token between my phone and my case so whenever I needed a pick me up, it was right there. Same goes for having a picture on your phone case! A trip down memory lane whenever you darn feel like it!
That’s it guys, those are my top favorite ways to hang and use your wedding images in and around your house! Tell me your favorite way that you’ve tried or drop a picture in the comments below so I can see how all your picture projects turned out!!
